6 – 7 July, 2017, Newcastle, Australia.
Proposal abstracts due 31st March 2017
Australian and New Zealand Environmental History Network Green Stream at the Australian Historical Association conference, Newcastle, NSW.
Following on from the success of the inaugural AHA Green Stream at Ballarat in 2016, proposals for papers and panels are sought within what has become a broad interdisciplinary field since Roderick Nash coined the term environmental history in 1972. In keeping with the overall conference theme of Entangled Histories, we welcome papers which explore intersections, tensions and mutuality amongst and across cultural and natural worlds. Histories of technology and the environment, those which examine the more-than-human world and historiographical studies are particularly welcome. The expanded Australian and New Zealand Environmental History Network will be launched during a plenary session of this strand.
Conference registration is open to all, but presenters must be members of the AHA or its affiliate organisations.
Each author may submit only one abstract.
