Making Futures: A Slam Event
Wednesday 5 September
5.30pm–7pm
Melbourne Museum
Presenting object stories with a fresh take on old stuff.
This dynamic presentation will reveal how our responses to the past can influence the future. It will delve into museum collections to see what secrets they hold, and if they can help us understand ourselves better.
This event is the result of a collaboration between scholars, artists and museum experts, and follows in the footsteps of other Anthropocene Slam events worldwide.
Join us to see what insights are gained by looking with fresh eyes at old stuff.
Speakers: The Slam will be presented by social science, humanities scholars, creative writers, science communicators and visual artists involved in the Anthropocene Campus with Museum staff. It is supported by Understanding Australia in the Age of Humans: Localising the Anthropocene ARC project https://everydayfutures.com.au/gallery/ and Deakin University.
