Applications for our fully funded PhD scholarship close on Mon 20 May 2019. Please encourage current and former students to consider applying. T&Cs are excellent, as are the potential supervisors in History Team at Greenwich.
This three-year fully-funded PhD scholarship is intended to provide an outstanding candidate the opportunity to pursue an original doctoral research project in history.
The scholarship provides a fee waiver up to the value of the full-time home/EU rate for MPhil/PhD degrees and a maintenance grant set at UKRC rates. Additional funding will be available through the History Research Group to support travel and research expenses including, where appropriate, extended work in international archives. Subject to satisfactory progress, financial support will also be available to provide for a ‘writing-up period’ following the conclusion of the scholarship.
Based in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences in the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the History Research Group coordinates and supports historical research at the University of Greenwich. Our research interests range across social, cultural, imperial, maritime and environmental histories from the early modern to the contemporary world.
