The Environmental Studies Program at Washington and Lee University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level beginning 1 July 2019. Washington and Lee is a private liberal arts university in Lexington, Virginia, United States.
Areas of study are open but the University is particularly interested in candidates from the environmental humanities. They anticipate that a candidate will have a disciplinary strength, but likewise that her/his scholarship will be interdisciplinary. In addition to courses in her/his area of expertise, the new hire will be expected to teach Introduction to Environmental Studies, a 200-level course in Environmental Humanities, and contribute to the co-taught capstone research course in the major/minor curriculum. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, creative teacher-scholar committed to high-quality undergraduate education and student-faculty research.
Completed applications will be accepted until 15 October 2018.
